Association "Progetto Prijedor" ("Projekt Prijedor") was created in 1997; many associations from Trentino had already worked in the countries of former Yugoslavia during the war, to support the population and help the refugees.
Today at least 18 municipalities of the autonomous province of Trentino work together with "Progetto Prijedor".
Association "Progetto Prijedor" was given the task to create the Local Democracy Agency, whose Office was opened in Prijedor on february 2000.
The aim of the association is to promote the dialog between the different ethnic groups and to develop local economy.
Besides, the association has always been working to fight the poverty left by the war, through a program of aid to the families.
