| About us | Reconciliation and Memory Referring
to The Bosnian war, the term "urbicide" has often been used: the war
has destroyed the cities and the cultural heritage, that testified the
multiethnic history of the Country. Encouraging cultural life in Prijedor is one of the aims of the Association as a way to reconstruct a shared memory. Many cultural events have already been organized, with the participation of writers and authors like Ivan Čolović (from Belgrade) and Giacomo Scotti (from Istria), who have been fighting the spreading nationalism in the countries of Former Yugoslavia during the 90s. The aims of the associations in 2008 were: - Supporting the activities of the Civic Forum, through the organization of cultural events and meetings about the memory of the conflict; - Encouraging the partnership between the Museums of Trento and Prijedor; - Realizing a documentary about the history of Prijedor, based on the memories of its citizens; - Encouraging the partnership between Tac.ka and "Arte Sella"; - Organizing meetings and discussions about restoration of cultural heritage. The local partners involved in this project are: the Civic Forum, the Municipality of Prijedor, Association Tac.ka, Institute of Italian Culture of Banja Luka, Italian Embassy in Sarajevo. ![]() Ivan Čolović and Melita Richter in Prijedor |
